Casual Tuesday

Happy belated Tuesday everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic day! Today was my second time attempting to dress "casually." It is easier than I thought. You can easily take something like a simple pair of jean shorts and make them fun and fashionable.

For this ever so beautiful day, I decided to pair my high waisted F21 shorts with an Urban Outfitters crop top, Charlotte  Russe leather jacket, Free People socks, and lastly my favorite Ray Ban sunglasses to tie it all together. It has been absolutely gorgeous these last few days. The temperature has been up near the 60s, the sun has been shining and everyone is so positive. And what makes a day even a little bit better than a fantastic outfit? Am I right?!

Here Comes the Sun

The past few days have been absolutely fantastic! We really got a little glimpse of spring in the weather. I couldn't help but sit outside all day under a tree doing homework. It was so difficult not to skip every class and bask in the sun.

For the first day of nice weather I decided to wear my maxidress from PacSun, Zara sweater, and my first pair of TOMs. I felt like such a hippie sitting in the sun! This is a definite go to spring outfit. It is so breezy and flowy, but still keeps you somewhat warm.

What is your favorite summer/spring outfit? Do you go with shorts or dresses?

Thank you all for reading!!

Model Behavior

A big part of finding inspiration for my own style is looking to those in the fashion industry. I look to editors, models, designers, photographers, and other bloggers. So from now on, every Friday I am going to showcase some of my favorite fashion girls styles. To kick start this new thing I decided to go with my absolute favorite model: the lovely Karlie Kloss!

I searched high and low online to find my favorite street style of her's. Being almost the same age, Karlie has always been a big inspiration to me. Though I will never be able to do the things she does in the modeling world (seeings how I am only 5'3) I take so much from her style.
She always looks so chic on an off the runway. She has definitely mastered the art of mixing girly and edgy. Though she works in an extremely mature industry, she is able to keep her youth in her style. This young girl from St. Louis is definitely someone to keep an eye on for years to come.

Do you all have a favorite model that has killer style??

Click Your Heels and Think of Me

Ever since I was a little kid, I have had pretty much the exact same style. Red combat boots, dresses, or jean shorts. I guess not much has change right. I always think that these boots could be like a modern day "Wizard of Ozesque" shoots. I mean when I click my heels together I shoot right back home... well I wish I did. For the day I paired them with my absolute favorite dress that I got in Italy and my Free People socks.

Has your style changed immensely since you were a kid? Do your favorite childhood movies still have an influence on what you wear? Or am I the only weirdo that lives in the past?
Thanks for reading, all!

^^those are my childhood boots!

Casual Tuesday

Going to private schools my entire life a dress code has always been enforced. I was never really able to wear my favorite dresses because they were deemed "inappropriate." That is why when I graduated I started wearing dresses almost everyday! I absolutely adore feeling girly and pretty, and I usually don't get that when I wear pants. So anyways, my friend decided that I need to start dressing casual once a week. When I usually think of "casual" in college I always think of people wearing sweatpants and uggs. I am sorry, I just cannot bring myself to do that, even at home. Then I came to realize, you can still be fashionable while being casual. I will be making Tuesdays devoted to casual wear, and how you can still style it fashionably. I hope you all enjoy!

For my first day of casual Tuesday, I went with my favorite black American Eagle jeans, Ralph Lauren jean shirt, Urban Outfitters infinity scarf, and sparkly TOMs that I wore to my prom. I was still able to keep my personal style without having resort to sweats to be casual.

I challenge all of you fashionistas to do one casual day out of the week!

Take Another Little Piece of My Heart

I have always been fascinated with the past. Growing up, my parents surrounded me with music ranging from Cat Stevens, Carole King, Bob Dylan, and the Greatful Dead. To say that I have been heavily influenced by this time would definitely be an understatement. I always think to myself that I was born in the wrong era. It would have been so fantastic to grow up in the age of Woodstock. The amount of inspirational writers, artists, and musicians of that time is absolutely insane.

Being so inspired by everything from the 1960s, I often find myself pulling from that era when I dress, unintentionally of course. So many people of that time were huge fans of the bandanna headband look. I mean you rarely saw Jimi Hendrix without one. This is a trend that has definitely made a come back in recent years. It just goes to show some things will never go out of style.

Dress: Forever21
Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Tights: Anthropologie
Scarf: Vintage

If you could build a time machine to go back to the "perfect" decade, when would it be?

No One is You-er Than You.

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY DOCTOR SEUSS!

A huge part of my childhood was reading Dr. Seuss books. My sister and I would curl up under the blankets before going to bed and made my dad read "The Lorax" and "Go Dog Go." Now that I am older, I still find myself a-okay with reading those fantastic books. From "Oh the Places You'll Go" to "Green Eggs and Ham," everything he wrote was genius. His words will live on forever!

Something that the great "Dr." taught us all was to be yourself. Never let anyone define you! You define who you are. And if it is a little weird, so be it. Same goes with style! Even if people will think it is a tad odd, if you like it, that is all that matters. I paired my favorite H&M shirt with Urban shorts and Target boots. I found that it was a fantastic rainy day outfit.
