Leather and Lions

Over break my mom and I went on quite a few bonding trips. One in particular was to the studio and gallery of Don Drumm in Akron. He is the phenomenal sculptor who does everything from jewelry to huge wall sculptures. He is simply amazing! I got this brooch from there and even though it was not made by him, it was made by his daughter who has a very similar aesthetic. I thought it was just to die for and I had to have it.

I paired it with my H&M sweater, F21 dress, my fathers hat, and leather jacket which I have no clue where it is from. And also my absolute favorite boots which I thought were dead forever. Luckily I found a cobbler who looked just like Geppetto who made them as good as new!

 Thank you all for reading!

Back to the Basics.

After a month long break in Ohio I am finally back to school in New York! Since the weather has been terrible, I get to show you the lovely brick walls of my dorm as a backdrop. Definitely not ideal, but at least it is no longer cornfields.

This is pretty much a remix of an outfit I had a few weeks ago. I am wearing almost the exact same components, just styled it a tad differently.. I went with my Topshop scarf and boots, Forever 21 dress, and Zara sweater to keep me warm walking to and from classes.

Thank you all for reading, and as I learned from my Italian class, Arrivederci!

The Awkward Sweater

Everyone has that one awkward sweater... The one that everyone else is curious as to why we would touch it, but to us it is gold! I saw this gem online somewhere, but being the poor college student I refrained from buying it. Lucky for me, my dad caught the hint and got it for me for Christmas! Though my sisters cringed at my taste, I think it is wonderful! I paired it with some wonderful pants from the Gap.

Though my time in Ohio has been really wonderful, I am  ready to go home to school! Only two more weeks till I can go to the beautiful city!

a city in winter

After days and days of keeping fingers crossed and maybe a few snow dances, it finally came! Our ground was layered with beautiful snow. It finally feels like winter.

This is one of my absolute favorite dresses in my closet. I got it in NYC on my very first trip for my thirteenth birthday! It is so flowy and light that I feel extremely mystical in it. In order to survive the horrific Ohio winters I rely on my bomber jacket. It is finally worn in just the right amount.

Of course no outfit is complete without my handy dandy red boots. I will probably wear them to death eventually.

New Year, New Me

Welcome 2012, it is good to finally meet you! I can't believe another year has come and gone. 2011 was such a good year and I was so glad I could spend the last few hours of it with my best friends.
As everyone knows as soon as the clock strikes 12 January 1, everyone cheers and makes resolutions. I have always been a fan a making these, but never keeping them. It seems near impossible to keep a promise to yourself for an entire year, but this year it is my mission to do so! I don't care if people think it is dumb, but I'd like to think that I can keep this promise all year! Here is to a better year! Now enough of the stupid babble of resolution stuff, it is time to move onto the more important stuff. The clothes of the day! I was the type of loser who had to make a outfit change. I started the day off with the yearning to emulate the wonderful 90's heroin chic look. I got the beautiful fur jacket for Christmas this year, and I am probably going to wear it to death!

For the actual New Years festivities I went the sparkly route. Nothing like a good sparkle to watch the ball drop! It is the only way to do it.

I paired each outfit with these wonderful Topshop boots.. I am kind of obsessed with them..

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, also have a fantastic 2012!
